Post-Pandemic Home Design

If COVID-19 has changed your idea of the ideal home design, you’re not alone. After having the whole family living, working and going to school from home for weeks on end, many homeowners are rethinking their home layout, design and functionality. That will undoubtedly drive new trends in home design.
Hadley Keller, writing for House Beautiful notes that the new must-haves go far beyond home office setups. The open floor plan may give way to spaces that are more private, and flex spaces will be big priority. Buyers will want extra rooms that could function as an office, a workout area, play room or as spaces for aging parents. Private and semi-private exterior spaces will be a priority as families look for safe, controlled fresh-air options. Mudrooms with a bathroom, shower, and washer/dryer will also be popular, providing a place to clean and sanitize before entering the main part of the home.
