Most of the Baby Boomer generation is now retired, or getting close to retirement age – and they’re on the move. As family homes turn to empty nests, and lifestyle preferences begin to change, many Boomers are reconsidering where they want to live. More specifically, they’re making the choice between an urban or a suburban lifestyle.
Here at Vanguard Realty Associates, we’ve seen a significant Boomer trend toward urban areas. We’ve also seen a rising trend of Millennials moving into the ‘burbs. That shift has increased over the past six months. The New York Times recently reported on housing trends related to Baby Boomers and Millennials, covering some of the myths related to these populations. We’d like to know what you think! Whether you’re a Boomer or a Millennial, tell us about your preferences in urban vs. suburban areas, and what you value in lifestyle amenities. If you’re a real estate professional, we’d love your feedback too. Times are changing – and we want to be sure to meet our client’s needs at every age!
