Selling a Parent’s Home

When parents pass away, leaving a home behind, it often becomes the children’s responsibility to sell the home
This can present many issues, all of them difficult to deal with while also grieving the loss of a loved one. Family members may need to clear out the home, clean it and tend to other issues in order to sell the property. If the parents die without a will, legal issues will need to be addressed. Decisions will need to be made on whether to make repairs or invest in renovations before selling. When multiple family members are involved, the process of working through the details can be emotionally draining and a source of friction. The best bet is to try to be prepared before the issues arise.
