Think Before You Stage

We all know that it makes sense to stage a home before putting it on the market. But what may not be as well understood is how to make the decision about the staging style.
At its core, staging is marketing – and the most important factor in successful marketing is understanding your audience. Whether you hire a professional or do it yourself, it’s is essential that you consider who is most likely to buy your home. Will it be a family, empty nesters, a young couple or a single? Consider what is important to these demographic groups in terms of a home’s features and functionality. Then, familiarize yourself about the style and design preferences of your target group. Only then should you begin staging in a way that reminds a buyer of how close he or she is to living the dream. Ron Wynn, writing for Fox Business, explains the process here.
